Northern Electronics have already released a clutch of exceptional records this year, Varg's "Ursviken" and Acronym's "June" to name but two, but this EP tops the lot with knobs on. "Taotast" is deep techno in excelsis, three heaving masses of polyrhythmic pyrotechnics capped by the utterly astonishing title track which will have revellers' jaws hitting the floor en masse whenever it's played out. A paragon of gobsmacking prosiliency. Nic Brown
That kind of techno which is deeply intertwined with ambient and bits of electronica. Not eally groovy, bit dark, but very well done throughout the album Thibaut Devigne
The excellent Barcelona label House of (S)PUNK is back with a five-song comp showcasing the local hardgroove scene. Bandcamp New & Notable May 1, 2024
Wind-blasted, hyperborean techno that wouldn't so much slay a dance floor as festoon it with icicles. For one so prolific, Varg seldom makes a misstep and this could be his best yet. Nic Brown
